I have never thought of you as bowing much to convention anyway, my dear!

lol.. well, you're quite right. I don't! But a few years ago, I would have been a little shy about inviting someone out on a canoe trip or a hike after a brief initial meeting. However, these days, if I meet someone and they strike me as the kind of person I would enjoy spending a few hours with out in a canoe or along a trail, I just ask. The fun thing is that most of these serendipitous outings have led to some wonderful friendships.

Listening politely to such a lady is a rare gift. Imo it is one of the most powerful forces of good in our mundane existence.
I have recently been struck with profound and ... uh, wait a minute, Oh yeah. Memory disorder. I am very grateful to my friends and family who don't roll their eyes and gripe "You SAID all that already!" I am even more grateful when I get an important reminder - I already know about it, Kin knows I've been told n times, and yet the reminder is without any impatience.
That is a great gift, an act of acceptance. What I was - what I am now - and they still love me. Gotta go wipe my eyes.
