"...wonder about Iceland" It may depend on how much
you want to blend in and "be like everyone else."

My time spend in Australia in early 1970s was very nice
eventhought it felt like being in the USA 95% of the time,
the people there were quite different then Americans if one
is in tune to this type of presentation, but if not, then being there
would be no different that choosen a different USA city to live.

As for Iceland, my experience is in mid 1970s and I have a very
warm spot in my memories for Reykjavik, and while Akureyi has
a view that makes one think they are in Switzerland (never been there,
only seens pictures) it was a brutal place outdoors when the wind arrived,
but then my impression was that only the people born there, or for job,
would live there.

For me Reykjavik is super nice for an easy living life style,
but then whats easy and living is different for us all,
but atleast I have nothing bad to say except speaking their
language was impossible for me eventhought I gave it a 110% try.
