Virtually all the top celebrities are backing Kerry...and I just heard today that Springsteen is going to join John Kerry for new rallies in close states like Ohio and Wisconsin -- the Boss and John Kerry were Born To Run and They Will Not Surrender...;-)

RACE FOR WHITE HOUSE: CELEBRITIES LINE UP

Oct 26 2004

dailyrecord.co.uk

WHEN the Democratic Party met for their convention in Boston earlier this year, it was hard not to bump into movie star Ben Affleck.

The Pearl Harbor star has become a prominent campaigner for Kerry.

He is just one of a string of celebrities who hope their fame will help influence the vote.

Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Robert De Niro and Michael Douglas have all given backing or cash to Kerry.

Springsteen told fans at a recent concert: 'We're here to raise our voices loud and clear. We want to change our government.'

And on her website, Streisand said of Bush: 'He's not up to the job of president.'

Film producer Stephen Bing, the father of Liz Hurley's baby, has given £4.6million to pro-Kerry groups.

But Bush and the Republicans can boast few star supporters.

Songwriter Judy Hart Angelo, who wrote the Cheers theme, has donated to Bush, as has controversial boxing promoter Don King.

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is also said to be a supporter.
