Jim-thompson, I agree...the problem with O'Reilly goes deeper than the "boys will be boys" attitude. Many people, dems and repubs, were pretty disgusted with Clinton's shenanigans and the way he tried to talk his way out of it. One of the things conservatives stood for during that period is that morality matters...there are things boss and subordinate don't do..and the boss has control of the situation, despite all the blather about consenting adults.

One thing some dems want to see is if the repubs are all talk and no consistency if one of their own was involved in a similar event. Now, O'reilly is not an officeholder, but he has stated publicly that persons like himself have to hold themselves to certain standards or they can't be responsible journalists. So..we will see.

The comments O'Reilly made about Roger Ailes (if actually said) are damning enough. Nothing Fox news loves more than to have their boss described as a secretive hit man, calling in favors to professionally off guys like Al Franken. Really terrible stuff, if said, and so damaging.

I applaud your statement on big Bill. He and the other Bill can go off somewhere and discuss how to impress young women who work for them.
