OK, are you trolling now, or is this about getting attention?

Your moral equivalency meter is broken. Kerry slanders 2.5M Vietnam vets by falsely accusing them of daily atrocities(in order to win an election) and you compare it with Bush saying he doesn't care what happens to OBL...what's wrong with this comparison?? Answer: Everything. The majority of voters agree with Pres Bush that OBL is only one person, so we care more about all the al Qaeda operatives that have been decommissioned under Bush's watch since Sept 11. Stop trying to foist an incompetent egomaniac on your fellow citizens. Kerry is the wrong man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. That's why majority of Americans plan to reelect Pres Bush and leave Kerry in the "lurch."

The guy was an altar boy. By all accounts, Kerry is pretty smart. If the guy is going to lie, you can bet that it is not going to be as transparent as something like this would be.

You're kidding, right?

Evidently many of Kerry's lies, fabrications, and
exaggerations have whizzed right by you.<g>

The problem with politicians and salesmen is that with the passage of time, they can convince themselves of anything. So suppose Jk really did meet with a couple of people on the SC to talk about something inconsequential.

30 days later : I met these 3 guys and asked them point blank about that sanction thing.
60 days later : I met 3, no wait, it was 5 guys and convinced them on the exact wording for resolution 1441
180 days : I'm pretty sure I met them all and taught them all the diplomatic skills they need to survive in this world of nuances.
270 days : I'm sure glad I met with all the UN SC members, the UN would be lost without me.
360 days later : I went there, they loved me, all of them.
Now : I invented the internet.

---

The problem with behaviour like this is : if he can be convinced that meeting with 3 is the same as meeting all 9 guys, that would mean he could get 1/3 of the job done and proclaim --- close enough, it's all done.

If not an outright lie, this form of self-delusion is a dangerous trait for a leader when you have enemies who want to kill you.

If an outright lie, it's not acceptable for any prospective CIC to pad his resume with half-truths just because it sounds good. It's self-serving and dangerous. The fact that it can be disproved so easily makes it worse and shows bad basic judgment.

My dad was an altar boy. I love my dad, so I won't tell on him, but trust me, it doesn't equate to being Jesus.
