Regarding you comments about why China can't get real results monetizing bad debt, I couldn't agree more. But my thinking is more along the lines that they will do it anyway, and thus it will be highly inflationary plus be a big Train Wreck. Just because it's poor policy, that doesn't stop or prevent these yahoos from doing it.

I'm now constantly thinking about the big Asian currency adjustment and Giant Reflux (displacement) question. I thought one scenario might be that the Chinese (followed by Japan) would do a token bone throw repeg before the election. Never say never, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. So that's one more indication they are headed down the inflationary path for themselves, as opposed to throwing the Old Maid card back at the US. But let's consider another scenario, Kerry gets elected. I believe he will come out with both guns blazing on the Asian manipulation question. I also think he will back it with action, quickly moving on trade restrictions, tariffs, etc. So perhaps now the Chinese are just waiting to see who they are actually dealing with, before playing their Card? Either way, I sense a Displacement is coming, and soon.

Meanwhile you continue to see constant signs that the various parties are moving away from Clown Buck recycling. The key though is Japan, and China is the key for them.
