I had the very unfortunate opportunity to listen to Al Bore,
I mean Gore give a speech in a ballroom in the Marriott
Crystal Gateway in the late 1990's. It was for something
related to the Dept of Education & I worked for ED/OIG.

I had already had enough of the Clinton Admin by them. Still,
I went out of my way to get permission to attend because he
was our VP & I figured this would probably be the only time
I'd ever get that close to one of the most powerful people in
the world.

They provided coffee & pastries, which turned out to be a
life saver. Gore was so dreadfully boring I had to pound
several cups of coffee to keep from falling into a coma.

There were less than 500 people there. I bet half of them
began to nod off at one point or another before it was over.
And some folks just gave it up & went to sleep.
