Eplay/Jay: Security Situation THE STRIKE LOOMS AGAIN!!
27th October
2004

THE STRIKE LOOMS AGAIN!!

The Labour Congress NLC and the Fed. Government are still at
loggerheads on
the issue of petroleum products pump prices.
There is still no official statement from either side. The two weeks
deadline from NLC to the Fed. Government to revert the present pump
prices
to the old ones will expire on Thursday, Oct. 28th. We expect an
official
statement from NLC in the next few days to indicate when the strike
will
commence.

With information gathered from Gov. circle, it is most unfortunate,
that the
strike will definitely take place. Everybody should therefore be
prepared
for the strike, starting from Friday, Oct. 29th ,even though we believe
that
the strike will officially start on Monday, Nov. 1st . NLC will
officially
announce the commencement date.
We will keep everybody informed.

During the pre test strike, two weeks ago, the Fed. Government
constituted a
special committee to look into the fuel pump crises and recommend a
lasting
solution to fuel pump prices.
The NLC and some NGOs that were in attendance described the committee
as
constituted by low key Gov. officials; and walked out of the
committee's
first meeting.

Ever since it was constituted, the committee hasn't come out with any
recommendations to resolve the crisis. Therefore, everybody should get
things ready for the strike. During strike, there could be relative
movement
of vehicles, probably to allow few people to sneak into the office and
do
some work. This decision can only be made after assessment of the first
two
days of strike. During the strike, Harris Security Management will
determine
if it is a violent free strike or not. If it turns out to be a violent
one,
we'll advice everyone to stay at home and keep off the streets. We will
keep
everybody informed.

Another Important security issue now is ROBBERY. Police statistics show
that
close to the year (Christmas), there are more robbery incidents than
other
periods.
Also, during strikes, it's a well known fact that people keep money at
homes
and armed robbers know that as well. Everybody should therefore be more
security conscious at home during this strike than before. Many robbery
incidents were recorded by the police during the last strike and more
incidents are expected during this coming strike. Don't be a victim!!

Precautionary Measures include:

* All security details at residences should be on alert and report any
unusual stranger/strange movements noticed
* Gates and inlets should be securely looked at all times.
* When coming home and you notice some unfamiliar persons hanging
around
your gate, don't drive into your compound; drive straight to a nearby
police
station and call Harris Security Management.

Be wise and don't be a victim!

We will keep you informed as things unfold.

>>why do you think I am not going to lose the bet :0)
because we are in the end-game?<<

No. For the markets in general, there is the possibility of bullish exuberance surrounding the elections. In the longer term, I think we may continue to muddle thru rather than arrive at the end-game. But I expect you'll win or at least break even by shorting another tranche from a higher level.

Jay, be very careful when tormenting bulls. Here's my favourite bullfighter [an old photo from about 7 years ago]. "Hole in Juan" as in golf, but the bullfighting version.

Does that bloke look a bit like you with some funny clothes on? thecopymacheen.com

Revenge is sweet. Note sword in bull's back. He must have got really annoyed with that. Talk about end-game.

Mqurice

PS: The bullfighter survived, but was very seriously injured [obviously]. Those guys are nuts. Imagine getting in the way of QUALCOMM bulls. Those CDMA fragmented photon light sabres scythe through flesh like a will o' the wisp. Those atavistic Aztecs can merely huddle in bewilderment, clutching their gold talisman, holding it up against they know not what, hoping their superstitious imprecations and incantations will save them.
