There's no lie involved. Explosives are missing. Simple stuff confusing? Here, let me help: 1. Explosives were monitored and protected before the war, under lock and key, subject to regular verification. That's about as safe as things are in a dangerous world. 2. BUSH ORDERS INSPECTORS OUT of Iraq. Suddenly, all bets are off. 3. Sometime later in the war, explosives are missing. Being such a highly prized objective, what a surprise. 1 + 2 + 3 = Conclusion: Bush actions caused Iraq to become more dangerous, not less. 4. CIA report finds that Iraq was telling the truth about his weapons. 1 + 2 + 3 * 4 = Final Conclusion: Sanctions and monitoring were working. Iraq far from safer. Terrorism increased, not decreased, and now all sorts of explosives are missing. Who is to blame? It very clearly is Bush.

Yes, and it's amazing to see so many educated people willing to drink cool-aid from the pages of the NY Times without a second thought. A paper which has been discredited on so many occasions, I couldn't possibly list them all. The simple fact is they have an agenda, and are probably in panic mode from the latest Florida, Ohio polls out. These are the people shaping election coverage at the Washington Post, CNN, the Associated Press, and the New York Times—including an editor said to be organizing the wave of anti-Bush NYT stories this week. The information is available through a simple public records search, and is easily verifiable by anyone with access to Lexis/Nexis.
