there is no proof the weapons were even there.
They could have been long gone.

There is no good light the bushies can put this matter in, so like all such matters, they have to rely on trying to twist the argument. But this is a rare instance of black and white, the weapons were there before the invasion, they weren't there immediately after the invasion, and traces of them have been found in bombs used against or brave troops who were sent in after weapons of WMD, which to the rights dismay, these weapons do not fall under, no matter how often they say otherwise.

===> "Would we have the same result as we have today?" <===

Not at all. Without Bush's decisive actions here at home, and abroad, American cities would certainly have been attacked again. If the wishy-washy opportunist, Kerry had been in office instead of Bush, you might have been speaking Arabic right now.

===> "Would the weapons be in the hands of "terrorists" or insurgents ..." <===

Are you asking if the weapons would have been in the hands of a "crazed" mass murderer, who would gas thousands of his own people, torture and murder children, constantly attack and threaten America, and would stop at nothing to seek vengeance against America?

I guess that your idea of security, in this world, is if brutal mad men like Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Mao, Arafat, and Stalin are tolerated until it is too late.
