You make good points.

I don't think that the terrorists will ever stop from trying to execute cataclysmic acts within the US. But I do think that regardless of who is President, it is going to be a lot more difficult for them to succeed.

Politically, of course, there is only one consideration--did such an act take place. Whether it will be preventable is irrelevant; fault will be assigned regardless of how difficult it may have been to prevent.
