We do know who was responsible for 9/11, though, don't we? There is nothing we can do to the perpetrators, they are dead, and their families probably have received quite a bit of $$$ from sympathetic parties. The problem is an unwillingness to acknowledge reality. The fact is that, on a daily basis, we are killing people who never attacked, and would never attack, the U.S. To me, these are innocent parties. If we are to kill innocent parties and outrage a good part of the world, I would just as soon that the killing could at least arguably provide some deterrent value.
