We both know the answer. Entrenched "minority leaders" have supported Democrats to the detriment of their groups. Look at Alan Bond and Quasi Mfume. the vile rhetoric coming from them has caused President Bush to recognise that the NAACP does not represent the interests of colored people. NAACP represents the interests of leaders, often to the detriment of members. This is why President Bush chose to address alternate venues to reach the black vote. This may also have contributed to his support among the black community having doubled.
