It would be more interesting if they listed ages.

If your were born after 1955, by the time you were 18, the draft was gone by about 1973.

In 1966 -1970 the drft was taking huge numbers of men. By spring 1971, the numbers required dropped and they were only drafting those in perfect physical shape.

1970 was also about the peak for the numbers of baby boomers. Close to twice as many 18 year olds 1960.

More 18 year old males than the Army could process.

In the middle 1950s, after the Korean conflict slowed, there was a profilieration of different deferment types, including defense work, medical school, etc.

This continued until about early 1960s...
