Gee, X, I wish I were in Scotland right now. I really envy you. If I had not lost my shirt in the tech bust and been so financially damaged by the post-911 economy, I think our family would be living in Europe now, also. Um, why are you coming back?

I am not sure the program you are referring to is playing on BBC America, which I do watch. I will check the listings. I am very aware of the Neocons and all the damage they have done, and their scare tactics. I am pretty sure you probably managed to see Fahrenheit 911, in which Michael Moore deals with the climate of fear they have created as a way to manipulate Americans and stay in power.

I will go out on a limb here and remark that Osama Bin Laden made at least as much sense in his speech yesterday as W. makes in his campaign speeches (please note that this is not a compliment towards Bin Laden, but a criticism of Bush), and that Bin Laden is generally more logical. It is our very long and wrong support of Israel and the degradation of the Palestinians which created conditions in the Middle East that led to the rise of all this terrorism. No one wakes up in the morning and just decides to become a force of evil. Well, maybe the Neocons did.

Aren't those little Indonesian hobbit creatures interesting? Everything we find out about the development of man points to a richer and more diverse human experience.
