Somehow, all EU chancelleries have turned into gamblers... betting on the next US President: if Kerry wins then Berlusconi loses and his controversial pick for the next Italian Commissioner --Buttiglione-- will get the sack... French Commissioner Jacques Barrot will in turn get a stronger portfolio... However, if Bush wins, so does Berlusconi... Aaahh..........Berlusconi, another western favorite? To have Bush leading the US and Berlusconi leading the EU is the stuff of nightmares.
