Recently I watched a documentary interviewing the press - top reporters from all forms of media - these people regret how easily they adopted the administration's version of events as the gospel truth. Some called their lack of intellectual curiosity "shameful". Frankly in the post 9/11 environment, I think many were scared of digging deep and opposing. It wasn't an easy thing to do back then - those that did continue to look under the covers should be commended for having real guts. (and their future work followed)
