Interesting. But of course historically the younger demographics haven't bothered to vote at all, making their political preferences moot. But this time might be different.

For those of us living in a non-swing state this election seems kind of like it's happening in some far-off country. But you can still make a difference - call your friends and relatives who do live in swing states and urge them to vote (the right way of course, whatever that may happen to be in your particular case).

I hear you former pgs..I think the stem cell research issue has fired the opponents and the proponents..and that's where I see the problem(for the general population)..those that are strictly pro-life and not closely reading can be easily pursuaded against it imo..

I also think that those of us who live and work in academic areas have views that don't necessarily match the general electorate..we tend to be more liberal, hang out with like minded people..It was not until I traveled across this country 4 times..hitting every corner, that I realized how different my perspective on social issues was by comparison..

There's enough at stake in this election for people of divergent opinions to vote..it will be fascinating to see the subgroup analysis..

Here's to hoping for the best..I voted weeks ago..it's done for me..trying to think of how to distract myself on 11/02..I get that sense of dread I haven't experienced since we waited for MRI results..
