<<When I first signed up on SI (when it was free) I used my real name too.>>

I did too and glad I did. Since I'm the only one with my name in the US I got a call from an SI poster with whom I had visited with several times. He gave me a stock tip that I sank $50k into. A few months later he called and I sold out for $225k. I wish he was still around.

In my early days on SI, I had my email address on my profile page, and it contained my name. It didn't take me long to figure out that that wasn't a good idea. Someone whose last name was used as a verb, not by me, but by people he considered my friends, got very angry about the 'honor' of his family being impugned, and since he had no idea how to hurt them, he PM'd one of them quite scary threats about what he "could" do to me -- since "in this country," with my name and email address he could "hire a detective" to find me -- if they didn't stop. It involved a gun. "Though I never would do that," he wrote.

He was permanently terminated. I wasn't really scared by it, more just amazed, since he and I had never had a cross word, but I did take my name and em address off my profile page.

Anyway, I think if Christine comes back, she should change her posting name....

Though if I'd made 175k because I'd used my real name, well heck, what's a little threat....
