*********OT.....but I think amusing story....

I had just relocated to NH from Chicago many years ago as a young lawyer.....I was working for a large firm in NH and one of the partners had asked me to conduct a foreclosure sale for one of the firm's bank clients.....the debtor was also a lawyer.....in preparation for the sale, the auctioneer and myself decided to drive by the property.....when we got there it seemed abandoned (as was rumored) and the back door was wide open....actually someone had kicked it open......we went inside the house (it was a beautiful almost oceanfront piece)and looked around...upstairs in the attic.....we noticed what looked like a door...which when opened revealed a cache of automatic weapons, rockets, grenades, ammo, etc.....as it turns out this lawyer/debtor had been implicated in drug dealing, gun running and several murders before he disappeared.....we called the police and FBI to secure the home and remove the weapons and munitions.......

Anyway, the punchline to the story is that the FBI showed up at this very stodgy firm I was working for at the time to interview me....and when the receptionist breathlessly called me to tell me the F-B-I was at the door asking for me....I jokingly asked her to give me a head start of about five minutes so I could make my escape....She literally dropped the phone.....hehehehehe It took me about ten minutes to get her calmed down again.....

J.

Thanks for the tip!

Unrelated - I love the story about a librarian that skirted around the Patriot act and put up a sign "The FBI has not been here yet, watch for this sign to disappear and then you'll know..."
