Why should Switzerland pursue this policy? If this isn't a smart policy for Switzerland, what makes it so clever for America?

I'm to understand that the level of National and personal debt in the US is extremely precarious and that devaluing the dollar is seen as a way to address the problem without collapsing the system.
A devalued US $ should lessen costs of manufactured goods and create markets abroad for those goods. since the US can't buy on credit anymore if no country will finance that credit then they had better start getting in on the successful manufacturing and exporting of their goods and realizing profits in order to support the country through employment.

I don't think this is a problem (National debt and personal debt) that the Swiss have. Hence they don't need a solution to a problem they don't have.

I will be the first to admit that the dollar devaluation may not work and that everything will go to hell anyhow but I expect something has to be done and PERHAPS this will do it. I don't have any better ideas other than the country and its citizens get a grip on their spending but its a little late for that. In any event, I never professed to be an economist by a long shot .
