I had to do a lot of searching to confirm that the barrels and boxes which were labeled :

Explosive class 1.1D

were in fact the kind of explosives that were being looked for. Most links about explosives don't work anymore, including those which explain the labels and marking that are required for transportation. I eventually found a DOT description, but I bet I'm on Ashcroft or Tom Ridge's list now for showing too much interest in the subject.
