Hi David,

Looks like TransCanada Power LP (TPL_u.TO) is restricted to owning power plants, so I don't think it will be affected unless the proposed pipelines result in new power plants being built. Apparently it's a subsidiary of the larger TransCanada Corp. (NYSE=TRP). I'm not familiar with the others. The overall pipeline projecta in U.S. and Canada involve various spurs, so you can expect other pipeline companies to get involved, such as Enbridge Inc (NYSE=ENB).

The main thing on the agenda for the next few months is to hammer out an agreement among the major parties. Then they will spend about 1 year and $1 billion to study and plan the pipeline, whereupon they will find out how much it's really going to cost. Completion should be around 2012-2015, so it's quite a while before there will be any income from the North Slope gas.
