I agree, which is why I said "this assumes an optimistic scenario of AMD steadily gaining sales unit-wise".

which is why I envisions the earliest time for shortage in Q4 2004, by when the dual core could become a factor on high end of the desktop market, and probably majority of the server market.

BTW, I will take .4% unit market share gain (combined with >> .4% dollar market share).

Even VIA seems to be growing unit marketshare faster than AMD. It´s sobering, but true:

Where did you get this 0.4% number from? Oh, I see it, Mercury Research. But the relative AMD/Intel revenue and ASP numbers are consistent with about 0.7% gain in CPU unit sales market share. Most of the CPUs sold by AMD in September weren't sold to consumers yet by the end of September.
