JN, Know what you know, your statements hold truth. The French are being themselves, nothing has changed and we should deal with them from the understanding that they are out for themselves. Germany has also crossed the line, again in their underhanded dealings with Saddam. Add Russia, China and Koffie A to the mix. AUstralia is solid, and as you say the Warsaw countries are aligned with the U.S. and that is a good thing. Putin was KGB and has heavy pressures to lean away from an open gov due to corruption, power struggles, etc. and that is a primary concern as wannabe allies. He is in a hard place and his career and life could be on the line, tough part of the geopolitical world. Brave new world yes. Scarry, yes. Keep the faith as right now, regardless of the negative spins and the huge slant in the media toward Kerry and the radical left wing agenda, right thinking and right action in some big ways still rests within the republican leadership. Rhumsfield spoke simply eloquently and straight forward yesterday in response to the bogus issues raised for political smokescreen by the NYTimes and CBS. It will hurt Kerry. When regular folk with half an intellect realize he is blowing off regarding powerful and dangerous issues of which he knows amazingly little they will reconsider the logic of electing him as head coach to call the nations plays. Speaking of our SOD, I saw him assisting carrying stretchers out of the burning rubble of the Pentagon on 9/11 while Secret Service tried to get him to leave. That is character. He is NOT a bought man. He is a former Navy Pilot, self made millionaire, well beyond retirement age and he chooses to use the gift of life left to him in service of a country he loves. That is about as good as it gets in my book. Many on the left hate him because he speaks his mind and holds the reigns of power they envy. That is why envy is a deadly sin!
