OK, I read it. It's the pot calling the kettle black, pure and simple.

It's regrettable that our electoral process has been taken over by professionals, lawyers, and media elites. I would like to see the people make their choice without an onslaught of pressure from every direction.

Our country has developed a bimodal ethic, with statistical humps on either side averaging to the middle. This is tragic and destructive. It gives too much power to the professionals, and disenfranchises everybody but the tiny fraction of people who lie half way between the two modal humps. These people are typically uninformed because they haven't taken the trouble to learn about their country's issues. Therefore, they are a rich source for the professionals to mine. It takes only a tiny bit of gerrymandering to shift the balance.

I can remember The Atlantic from way back, when I was a child. Every time I pick it up, which is rarely because I know what to expect, I find there is absolutely nothing of interest in here for me.
