What makes you think that the Swifties are going to pull a rabbit out of the hat now, after some real pros have tried without success for a very long time? Only this - few of the so-called 'real pros' have the expertise to comb military records and notice things that are missing or dubious in them. How many reporters have a Naval background? Second, nosing after the missing records will require friends in high places in Naval records - how many reporters have those? To me, it's quite possible that the Swiftees could find something. But only Rush and Fox will publish it if they do.
