Don't worry, FL. The Bears are a lock tomorrow.

As for jla and his ilk, they will disappear after next Tuesday when the national nightmare ends.

Hi Ken. Spamming your stream [already wrote it in Lindy's], by way of saying hello, happy Halloween and have a nice election and give my regards to our mujahideen mate, Osama:

Well, King George II couldn't do it. Too busy playing golf. It's time for a real man to have a go at catching Osama.

The USA went totally off course in the 1980s, hassling Gorby when they should have been supporting him. Ronald Raygun and George I were supporting Osama while Gorby was wringing his hands over what to do. In the end, Osama and the USA won the Afghanistan war, except that the USA didn't really win. Osama did. Then, he turned and murdered many thousands of Americans and others. Which wasn't really a surprise.

<Osama moved to Afghanistan in 1984 after spending the first few years of the war raising money for the Islamic resistance.

There he took command of, and financed, a brigade of as many as 20,000 militant fighters from across the Arab world that would later evolve into one of the most feared terrorist networks in modern history.

Yet he was described in a journal published in Cairo in 1991 chronicling the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan entitled "The Battles of the Lion's Dens of the Arab Partisans in Afghanistan," as a homesick youth who only gradually became involved in the Afghan war.

But sometime before the Soviet's withdrawal from Afghanistan, Osama's network began to take form and Al-Qaeda, or "The Base," is widely believed to have been established in 1988.>

The USA was confused over where the real enemy was due to a crazed obsession with communism, despite the huge transition as the horrors of 1930s Stalinism gave way to 1980s Gorby's nicer way of doing things. Compare Gorby with Osama and see who you should be backing. Raygun and Bush chose Osama over Gorby.

Now, 3 years after the destruction of the Twin Towers and a lot more besides, Osama appears giving the fingers to King George II who considers Osama irrelevant, "who cares?" and so on. The real action was to get Saddam and the non-existent WMDs, not to mention the oil. Which has turned out to be a debacle too. channelnewsasia.com

I can only hope that Osama hasn't got, as they've promised, a really good attack lined up on the USA to make the Twin Towers attack look small. They seem to take their time and do things right, more or less, with limited facilities. I hope it's a bluff and the usual wild Arab exaggerations. I doubt it. There doesn't seem much point in such a bluff.

I assume the possibility of bombs half way up large apartment buildings has been checked. Al Q could discreetly carry 10kg a day into rented apartments over a year or two and make a very big bang, destroying a LOT of buildings and people in one go. The day before the election might be a good time. Fingers crossed. Meanwhile, as King George II says, "Who cares about Osama? He's hiding in some mountains somewhere."
