Whoa! We were talking about reasons for attacking Germany at the beginning of the war, not developments several years later. You are imbuing FDR with much greater power than even he had. For all his attributes, he wasn't Karnac the Magnificent. lol. Do you think he preemptively attacked Hitler because of missiles he might have five years later? Such a justification would more than justify Bush's taking Saddam out, to prevent his realization of future plans for WMD's, which are much more lethal than Hitler's wildest aspirations. Btw, yes, I recognize von Braun, from before his post-WWII development of our space program. My father's truck company not only fueled and supplied ammunition for the tanks rolling through Normandy, Czechoslovakia, and Germany after D-day, but was also credited with capturing the first tanker car of V-2 rocket fuel, for which he earned the Bronze Star.
