Similarly, about 2 out of 3 Iranians thought Bush is better for Iran...and this is in addition to the official government position (also in support of Bush).

Most of the civilized world wants anyone but Bush - by big margins, and this includes the vast majority of "coalition partner" countries and almost all NATO countries, traditional US allies.

Just like the market, a single data point is irrelevant -- but a trend is important.

Leaving aside your dubious framing, the French are hardly alone in their opinion of W. Bush does have a marginal following in Poland, the Phillipines, and Nigeria, though. From news.bbc.co.uk :
