Elmer as you must have noticed some of these aren't fully new fabs you must also have noticed the total cost of a single new 300mm fab is tad or two higher than what you stated:

2. Starting with your second link (new mexicon one). It's is an expansion of an existing fab that will produce 130nm output (and will later convert to 90nm).
3. Third one (Arizona) is a conversion of an older fab (not a new fab).
1. The first one (F24/Ireland) is resumed and as we can hardly say we have all figures available here I hope you leave me the benefit of the doubt when I say I doubt the cost figure here.

Also note that Intel's fabs typically have a bit higher WSPW capacity than AMD's, and are often larger too, and are often the first in the world to use pioneer new technology, all of which account for higher cost than AMD's fab 36, won't you agree?

Rink
