My saying that my estate will sell at $30 was just a joke about how we hang on and hang on, waiting for AMD to advance.

But I did hold quite a bit of AMD through the last big runup. What a ride that was! I seem to remember there was one day when it went up $7, from about $32 to $39 (not split adjusted).

The stock market addicts you by making the swings larger and larger as the stock gains value. That is, a 50 cent move on a $10 stock turns into a $4.00 move on an $80 stock. And if you got in early, that $4.00 might be the same order of magnitude as your original investment.
