Tejek, CNN's senior editor is truly struggling with the translation of bin Laden's video and is presenting an inaccurate view of his message, I think. She (incorrectly?) claims bin Laden said, "in order to avoid further attacks, the United States should not attack al Qaeda", when in fact I believe he said "in order to avoid further attacks, the United States should not attack us", i.e. Muslims, i.e. the USA should not support Israel's attack on Muslims like the US govt did when Israel attacked Lebanon's towers in 1982.

I don't see any confusion in his message. He is saying don't attack Muslims. He also says that he got the idea to attack the US when he saw Reagan help the Israelis in Lebanon which turned into a disaster for us.

Like I said earlier, he speaks like he's a deity; like he's speaking for all of Islam.

What Bin Laden is saying in that video is not in the least bit relevant. Nobody, the vast majority of the unwashed masses, will care to figure it out and he knows it. It is his appearance that is calculated to throw the election to Bush. His motive is to further, in his view, isolate us.
