As if that's going to encourage us to change our policy? Of course attacking us won't. Countries that are attacked typically turn around and attack back. Amy, don't forget what happened in Spain. The Madrid train massacre a few day before an election resulted in the defeat of the front-running conservative government, and brought in the socialists. The terrorist attack worked exactly as planned. Bin Laden is shrewd but also delusional. He thinks he can scare the Americans into changing their government. It worked once, why not again? If the election were to prove him right, America would be held hostage to terrorist threats and demands for generations to come.
