You are only familiar with the Western side of Canada and I am only familiar with the Eastern side of Canada, so we make a pair. hehe.
Anyhow, the two population centers of Canada and I presume the determinates of the political nature of the Country are Quebec (french) and Ontario (english). For many years the two argued among themselves and in fact over a good bit of that time the Quebec folk actually wanted to revolt and form a seperate nation. Our property is in Ontario so I know the most about them, but in fact, I was once engaged to a girl from Quebec and spent a good bit of time visiting there plus her family was very big BIG SHOTS, in fact our engagement actually caused an INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT and we are written up in the USA Congressional Record etc etc. But thats another story, which I would be happy to share if anyone is interested.
Its my opinion, that the French Canadians are far more LIBERAL and are responsible for driving Canadian politics a good bit LEFT of where they were and certainly LEFT of American politics. But, I say that with absolutely no experience in Western Canada. JDN
