IMO, this has nothing to do with WW2. I think the next big war is going to be over energy and commerce.

I think the US is headed towards losing that one if we don't make changes immediately. We have so lost our way when we mint more lawyers and managers than scientists and engineers. I would like the US to avoid becoming the 'Not Very Great' Britain over the next few decades.
