This is a family run business. The company was founded and run by Michael Smolyansky, a Ukrainian immigrant, who died in June 2002. After his death, his daughter, Julie Smolyanksy, 27 years old at the time, stepped up and assumed the position of CEO. Ms. Smolyanksy’s mother, Ludmila, is the company’s Chairperson.

JULIE SMOLYANSKY was appointed as a Director, and elected President, CEO, CFO and Treasurer of the Company by the Board of Directors to fill the vacancy created by the death of her father, Michael Smolyansky, CEO, CFO, President, Treasurer and Director of the Company, in June 2002. She is a graduate with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Smolyansky spent 6 years as the Company's Director of Sales and Marketing. She devotes as much time as necessary to the business of the company and, currently holds no other directorships in any other reporting company. Ms. Smolyansky is the daughter of Ludmila Smolyansky, the Chairperson of the Board.

The stuff is great.I tried all the other brands of Kefir but Lifeway is by far the best.
