thanks for the grain estimate. if you want to know the energy requirement to produce a calorie of meat, to the grain requirement you need to add all the other energy requirements--for the water pumping, water treatment, heating, cooling, nasty biochemicals and hormones, transport, processing, amortized facility costs, etc.
