The Fed will make a lame effort to slow inflation and support the buck next year even if that means a slowing economy IMHO. With the election out of the way, they will feel free to administer some castor oil.

This is not to say monetary policy will be tight -- just somewhat less easy than it has been the last few years. I see a peak Fed funds rate of perhaps 3-3.5% before the next easing cycle begins.
