FACT: Kerry voted FOR every system in use by the Pentagon today FACT: Zell Miller has an identical defense and intel budget voting record as Kerry during the time Zell has served in the Senate. FACT: After the Cold War Cheney and all the GOP wanted big defense and intel cuts. It was called the Peace Dividend. Reagan had far-far overspent in an effort to ridiculously out-spend the Soviets. Now all that stuff could be cut. It had nothing to do with weakening our defences. It was wasteful obsolete spending being cut out. FACT: During the balanced budget era, the GOP and DEms joined to cut defense and Intel spending. Kerry suggested a 1% cut mostly in satellites. Porter Goss wanted twice as many cuts. Kerry fought for more human intelligence. He didn't get it. But boy did we need it. FACT: Kerry repeatedly warned about 9-11 type attacks on our soil as the #1 threat. Bush ignored these warnings. FACT: Bush has totally lied about Kerry's defense and intel record except one mistake Jk made, voting against the Gulf War. That is the one vote JK realizes was wrong. And it changed him. Since then he's been more of a hawk. FACT: Kerry warned not to invade Iraq unless we had just cause, a post-invasion plan and a strong coalition. Bush ignored all such warnings, even from his own father.
