Four years of paralysis, while strictly hypothetical, isn't appealing, but compared to the mess that four more years of tax cuts for rich people to "fix" the deficit at home and Iraq-style messes abroad, it wouldn't be so bad. W's record is a lot less ambiguous that Kerry's. I don't know what other wars he has in mind, but I do know his faithful followers have other targets in their sights. Four more wars? Unlikely considering the stretched state of the US military, but there'd certainly be a reliable cheering gallery.

"I think Kerry would be like Jimmy Carter - but without the convictions."

I think he has convictions that he trades in depending on the race he is in. However we have never seen him in an executive position before. I think once in, we will see him as the pacifist/socialist/internationalist(UN&France), he has become. Mike
