Interesting idea. I haven't seen anything about that yet, but I expect there will be plenty of innovation in hydroponics over the next while. Up here, I'm aware of a lot of experimentation with crops and I think we'll soon be at the point of eliminating imports of many of the vegetables which have not been available in winter in the past. That's good because transportation costs are climbing and dollar exchange is not always favourable, so it would be best to be able to produce as much food as possible in greenhouses located within a few hour's drive of our major cities. The other thing that I've noticed and that is probably a product of greater research is the quality of the vegetables. As mentioned, the tomatoes are actually quite good -- especially the smaller "vine tomatoes" which are almost indistinguishable from field-grown tomatoes. The greenhouse operation down the road from my place now produces 5 tomato varieties and they seem to be trying other vegetables now. I think the use of bee pollination and also hi-tech greenhouses that adjust heat and ventilation automatically have resulted in some major leaps in the industry.

How about those War Eagles, Ish! I almost hate to say anything, this season has been such a blast so far. But now they've clinched the SEC West and managed to win inspite of their worst game of the year. It's a great year no matter what happens here on out. But I love it for the players and for the coach. Especially the coach after they tried to backdoor him out last year. :)
