Bin Laden said the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington would have been "less severe" had President Bush been "more alert" and warned that the reasons behind the terror strikes were still there. "It never occurred to us that the Commander in Chief of the country would leave 50,000 citizens in the two towers to face those horrors alone because he thought listening to a child discussing her goats was more important," said bin Laden, referring to Mr Bush's visit to a school when the attacks occurred. "Despite entering the fourth year after September 11, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened. "America was hit by God in one of its softest spots. America is full of fear from its north to its south, from its west to its east. Thank God for that. "Our terrorism is against America. Our terrorism is a blessed terrorism to prevent the unjust person from committing injustice and to stop American support for Israel, which kills our sons." Reading from a sheet of paper, his voice was strong and at times he wagged a finger at the camera to emphasise his points. He said he had first thought of attacking the US after the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
