Perhaps some of these overfed, overindulged, undereducated Americans should have seen the writing on the wall and gotten wise to the fact that their $30/hour jobs with kick-ass benefits would not be around forever and gone out and gotten educated and retrained. I hope that folks realize that there are a lot of good and honorable people who have been working in the factories of America for a lot of years. While they may have believed the lie that the union bosses fed them about their financial security and the specific value of their labor, I don't think that many of them are properly described by the pejorative terms above. In fact, I guess I'm reacting because I've got friends and family who have provided for their families via their factory jobs, and in most cases, are re-training and finding new ways to participate. To denigrate them with such broad brush strokes seems as unfair as the unreasoned and logic-free attacks by many of the ABB crowd. Sorry, but just had to get that off my chest.
