Sir, if you support GW Bush, you are no moderate. I don't know where you live but where I live, supporters of Bush are well to the right of center........usually on the radical fringe. It's interesting, but the phrases I hear most often from Bush supporters that I know (and I only know half a dozen or so) are "I know you know a lot more about politics than I do, but..." or "I don't know much about what's going on in the news, but..." The Republicans I know who have said either that they think Bush is crazy or that he's dangerous.........I consider them to be the moderates. One friend has always been pro choice but he liked the Republicans because of their supposed fiscal conservatism. For him, that issue has become an allusion over the past 4 years. Now he thinks Bush is just plain nuts. The ones who strongly support Bush either are misinformed, don't know and don't care about the recent truth, or they quote the party line.......for an example, its not important that we didn't find WMDs; eventually Saddam would have restarted his nuke program and gone after us, or it doesn't matter that we didn't find any direct links between Saddam and al Qa'ida because he was a bad man in any case and had to go. Around here, they're not on the fringe; they just don't know much. Of course, I know a lot of Kerry supporters who don't know much either, and it pisses me off, but a larger proportion appear to have some idea of what's goin' on. That's, of course, only representative of people I know in the NE. Do you think the Republicans in your area are similar to the Republicans in say GA or Alabama.......more religious or evangelical? ted

Has it occurred to you that the Bush supporters are just more polite? That sounds a lot like the kind of phrase that sales people are taught to use so they don't offend people. Obviously they would not discuss politics in a sales venue. Perhaps the implication is that Kerry supporters are more arrogant.
