sylvester...as I understand it the hybrids generate their electricity during braking. Thus recapturing energy and storing it as electrical. This electrical energy is then stored in batteries and used to start the car from a dead stop or at idle speeds which allows the engine to be turned off for much of stop and go traffic, reducing unneccesary emmissions and running time of the combustion engine. Is that roughly how it works? What do you have a Prius? What are your thoughts after driving it for a while?
