This may come as a surprise to you, but in this country, hiding the voting process from public view has led in the past to what might be called abuse. Now, I understand Florida is well known for its fair and open processes, but personally I'd prefer to have someone watching. That role is played by the press. (You see, both the press and the vote have special places in something called the Constitution. Check it out.) You, on the other hand, obviously prefer operating under cover. There's lots of historical precedent for that too. But it has little to do with democracy.
