We finally agree on something Jacob. I wish i still had the Paper i wrote back in grad school but i made the same argument about WW1/WW2.
But i made one added point which i suspect you will agree with. After WW1 had ended if Versaille hadn't happened you might be able to say the same thing. We owe Versaille to the French. Also who knows how Stalin would have behaved given your thesis. There is no way to now know the cost of a war between a post-WW1 depleted west and an agressive soviet state if that was to occur. mike
