I once had a Mexican lecture me about America. That's not a good point! USA, Canada and Mexico are all free societies, and Mexicans and Canadians can call themselves whatever they want. If they want the rest of the world to acknowledge them as "Americans" they've just gotta start calling themselves that, and see if they can make it stick. If they don't want the rest of the world to call them Americans (which is more likely), then they stick with the status quo.
