I just put 'fungus' into the search engines for three Edwarda threads and got no hits, but maybe it doesn't search back that far. Who posted the CDC results on SI? I'm very surprised not to have seen it. I think that Neocon was making the point that among the immuno-suppressant stressors in Edwarda's life might have been the fact that she was living in that spore-rich environment. A number of factors might have set her up to be vulnerable when there was a major assault.
